Storage Services (S3)

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is a scalable object storage service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS) that allows users to store and retrieve data over the internet. Amazon S3 is designed for durability, availability, and scalability, making it ideal for a wide range of use cases, including data backup and archiving, content distribution, media storage, application data, and analytics.

  1. Object Storage: Amazon S3 is designed for storing and retrieving objects, which can range from small files to large datasets, images, videos, documents, and more. Each object is stored in a bucket, which serves as a container for organizing and managing data within S3.
  2. Durability and Availability: Amazon S3 provides high durability and availability for stored objects by replicating data across multiple availability zones within a region. This ensures that data is protected against hardware failures, network outages, and other unforeseen events, with durability levels exceeding 99.999999999% (11 nines).
